i need help with my ecs
i juss bought a ecs k7vta3 rev. 2 and i put everything together correctly and i get no video signal i tried several video cards and a pci one too. i tried the video cards in other mobos and they worked fine. i dont kno what is wrong. its not the power supply, tried my enlight 300w and 340w the rest of the stuff is tbird 1.13g 20gig maxtor 20 gig WD aopen 24x burner and a 16x DVD what is wrong?????!!!!!!HELP! thanx!

You are on the right track. The videocards are good, so you should
be getting a video signal. Here are two ideas:
1) Take the mainboard out of the case, and off the tray if you have it mounted on one. Try to run the videocard this way. If it now works, then you have a shorting problem. I would put plastic standoffs in to replace the brass ones, or try using insulating washers for each standoff (where the screw attaches the mainboard to the standoff).
2) Try the memory in different slots (try slot #1 first). Can you verify that the memory does indeed work in another board?
3) Here is a bonus suggestion. Perhaps your bios chip is not inserted properly, or you have a bad programming issue with it. Try using a bios chip from another board to see if it will boot up. If it does, then contact somebody that can get your bios chip reprogrammed.
Also, a general suggestion. Take out the extra items (DVD, CDRW, etc.) until you get past this issue.
