No problems so far. This mobo doesn't have any acceptable settings so I can get more out of the RAM and keep the PCI stuff happy. I am running using the following settings in the BIOS.
CPU Host Freq: 135
PCI/AGP Div: PLL/16
Dram Clock Ratio: 2.0 - It runs at 2.66 but things go wacky.
CPU Voltage: 1.65
This appears to keep the RAM/PCI/AGP at the default speeds.
I can get more out of the CPU, it will start to post at 3 Ghz at this voltage, but this seems to be the sweet spot for what I have.
I am using a AVC Sunflower for cooling with OCP's fav GC type 44 heatsink compound.
Mobo monitor makes the speaker in the PC buzz constantly so I haven't been able to figure that one out yet. The util that came with the mobo says the CPU is at 40c as I type this.

Thanks
I heard some mobos have a setting that keeps the PCI/AGP locked no matter what you choose for FSB speed. I now wish this mobo had that. I have quite a bit of headroom on the memory but I'm stuck running it at defaults. The IDE RAID controller seems to be fussy and doesn't like being out of spec. I have Corsair PC2700 and I'm not even near that. Maybe a BIOS update will hook me up some day. I know this CPU can do more.
I know RAMBUS would have made the memory scores better but I don't want to pay their lawyers so I went with DDR.

Some pretty nasty stuff ya got there 2 be sure! Wish I had your budget!
Just curious tho as to what other mobos are out there that have some good OCing options etc to use with these Northwoods? I build systems for peeps and I know somebody is gonna come along and want one these Northwood combos. I'd like to know what's what on them. I like the idea that these cpu's seem to have some pretty lofty OCing headroom as that should put some pressure back on AMD to ramp their stuff up as well. Which as you've stated, bodes well for all of us sickos.

very nice schwartz! you have given me hope!
I should have my 1.6a and asus p4b266-c here any minute now, ill let you know what I get out of mine.
Im not a hardcore oc'er so it might take me some time and research to get the most out of this thing. guess its not as simple as just ramping up the fsb anymore huh? seems like theres a bunch of different things to mess around with now.
heres what my system will be
p4 1.6a
asus p4b266-c
256m mushkin high perf pc2100
gainward gf3
sb audigy xgamer
30g maxtor 7200 ata100
creative 48x cd
broken acer 6x cd-rw
300w deere ps (worried about whether this will hurt me or not)

I just picked a board that looked good to me and had the features I wanted. There wasn't a whole lot around about all the boards at the time so I just jumped. Here is an article about the different chipsets:
http://www.vr-zone.com/reviews/Chipsets/P4DDR/
That statement was a big duh on my part. The PCI/AGP is running at default speeds but the RAM is over the CPUs default speeds or I wouldn't be overclocking now would I?
I guess the default would be 100Mhz quad pumped but I am running it at 135 Quad pumped.
Everything has been stable since setting this up and I am happy with the performance.
So how did things go? I have never heard a good thing about a deer ps. If you have problems it might pay off to look into a new ps.

well, im up and running at 2133 mhz, 16x133, default volts. been running 3dmark 2001 and sandra. strangely, im only getting about a ~5300 score with this. pretty pathetic. ill have to tinker around with my settings.
cpu dhrystone: 3994 mips
fpu whetstone: 1264 mflops.

heres what I got

gf3 is running 220/525, aa off, 4tap anisotropic, vsync off, agp 4x, sideband addressing
everything else from above post

I have an Abit BD7-Raid running a 1.6A
I have the core at 1.6v and the ram at 2.7v. I only have PC2100 Crucial so I can only go 128mhz at DDR266 but if I set it down to DDR200 I can get up to 138mhz for 2208 mhz.
Drystone: 4255
Mem bandwitdh: 2081/2084, of course that goes up when set at DDR266 back at 2048 mhz.
Guess I need some PC2700.
PCI is locked at 37.5, AGP at 75 mhz.

well, after tinkering around with my setup all weekend, heres the latest.
Ive gotten it to 16x150, 2.4ghz, 1.6v, 600 mhz fsb. 3dmark2k1 score at this speed was 8146. but using the hardware monitor on the mobo and running a looping sandra 02 cpu bench, the temps would get up to 47, 48c after about a 1/2 hr. MOH would lock up after about 10 minutes.
booted it back down to 145, 2.3ghz, 1.5v, 580 fsb and it runs stable, but still gets pretty hot. think I need to look into a better cooler.
also, with the 266-C model, usb wont post higher than 150 fsb. hopefully theyll fix this in an update.
this thing is damn fast. I was having a problem with it at first not running very well. did some tinkering with my bios and video settings and its running like a champ now. my 3dmark scores went from ~5300 to ~8000.
the 1.6a is a must have for oc'ers.
