Interesting read. Lots of behind the scenes at both Apple & Google. I found the description of the demo phones that Steve Jobs used for the first public demonstration really interesting. Those phones flat out didn't work. They would only run one or two apps and then crash due to bugs and memory leak issues. So Steve had several phones on stage and he'd do one app demo with each one, and then switch to another phone while the last one was rebooted.

The engineers were so worried about not being able to get a reliable Wifi connection that they resorted to hacking a router to fool it into thinking it was in Japan, which uses certain Wifi frequencies that aren't allowed in this country. That way they could guarantee that the only devices using that router was the demo phones.
