I have read a number of his books including Sarum and the Forest. I recently finished Princes and have just started Rebels.
These are very detailed historical novels which seem to have been well researched and convey a very clear sense of the time and the place. The Dublin novels track the fates of several Irish, English, and Viking families over 17 centuries. I find them to be incredibly lush, immersive, and hard to put down. They are lengthy, and it can be hard to pick up the thread if you put them down for a week or two, but really enjoyable.
