Back in the game

Post by b-man1 »

I've been out of the HT loop for too long after selling off my main system years ago. I couldn't haul that stuff around during multiple moves, but now that I'm settled in and have an official room for the gear (and wife approval...mostly...), I'm getting things back together.

My previous setup was Klipsch RF-7/RC-7/SVS cylinder sub (I forget the exact model now...), powered by a Denon receiver. New gear so far:

Klipsch RP-160M bookshelf speakers
Klipsch RC-62ii center
SVS PB-2000 sub
Receiver: TBD...I picked up a Denon X2300W from Amazon, but the box was half destroyed when it got here, so I'm sending it back. I'm thinking the X3300W or waiting for Costco to get a decent one back in stock

The receiver was the hardest thing for me. I ended up with a Pioneer Elite VSX-21THX about 5 years ago because it converts all input signals to HDMI (including S-video). This worked out great for my older Playstations and VCR (for older videos). Sound quality is of course great. Interestingly, I'm also pushing Klipsch speakers.
