This looks like fun, and Steam reviews are positive.

This looks like what Flat out 2 should have been. I loved Flat Out and instantly bought 2 when it came out and man was it bad. I will have to give this a go.

I picked it up. It's a fun, jump in and race game. The physics are great in realistic mode. It's pretty easy to turn a car into a pretzel. Framerate on the recommended settings is around 120 FPS on my GTX1080, and it looks nice.
The AI is pretty good in solo. And progression works in solo play (winning races allows you to buy or be rewarded with upgrades).
I tried some multiplayer and that was fine, except for the annoying guys who have learned to pull off perfect PIT maneuvers. You can host a private server in game, and supposedly fill in empty slots with bots, but haven't figured that out yet.
I'll give it a thumbs up, but for a game that's been put a year for the PC I think $40 (more with the DLC) I'd recommend waiting until it's on sale.

It's now on sale for $15.99 (60% off) until Monday Sept 30th. Well worth it for that price.
There's also a free track pack on the workshop that's well worth it. It add something like 30 tracks. When you play multiplayer everyone has to have the map pack installed and enabled. If someone doesn't have it then everyone needs to disable it.
