A lot of my friends who play COD and BF are playing this now. It was originally a HL2 Mod but now is a full standalone game.

Reviews (both published and from users) are excellent. I've read a lot of comments like "Battlefield for adults".

It's fast paced with big open maps. None of the unbalanced nonsense from COD or BF. There's standard PvP modes and even a couple of coop modes.

Downloading now. I'll be playing it this week and see how I like it.

They've got a well coordinated team there. Never seemed to find teams like that when I was doing multi-player.

Good game engine and physics. Played some multiplayer & coop. Trouble is in most of the game modes when you die, you have to wait for your team to capture an objective in order to respawn. Not crazy about that as you can be dead a long time sometimes.

Some modes there's just a more normal respawn where your whole team (those who are dead) respawns together after you die. I have to learn the modes.

Okay, game modes are listed on their website. The ones I like or Skirmish and Occupy because you get respawns (known as "reinforcement waves"). In Skirmish you lose your reinforcements if you lose your supply caches, in Objective it's king of the hill and the team that holds the objective gets reinforcements.

Even so, I'm not sure I have the patience for it. It's like Red Orchestra in it's brutal realism, and unforgiving one-shot one kill style.
