From what I've played, they've stayed true to the original. They didn't leave out the lousy first-person platforming that always makes me want to punch my monitor out of frustration. Otherwise, I'm liking it.

Where are you DLing it from? The links from the page in the original post here leads me to pages of software (starting with zip7) and toolbar installs that I don't want. Don't find it at Steam either.

Apparently it's awkward to download. I haven't been back home yet to try it. There's a thread here where they discuss it.

AIf anyone's done it already please post.

Seems it's a PITA to install.

Official site's download page:
http://www.blackmesasource.com/download.html

Forum thread on install issues and instructions here:
http://forums.blackmesasource.com/showt ... hp?t=12648

Looks like it's a 3.5Gb download.

I downloaded the torrent. All I had to do is shut down steam and click the installer. I didn't have to extract the 7z file or anything like that.

That torrent link worked well for me. Nice fast 2Mb/s speed.

I just ran the setup file and it installed. Then when the game launched in STEAM, it automatically downloaded the SDK.

There may be better ways, but I went HERE, clicked on DOWNLOAD NOW (free download) and waited for the huge download.

Once downloaded, it's stored in a zip file. I personally use WinRAR for about everything. I extracted it into a Black Mesa Folder.

In that folder is a BlackMesa-Setup.exe file. Double-click on that & it'll start extracting the files within the BlackMesa.7z folder for you to the correct directory. It's gonna take a while (~3-10 minutes) to extract.

It will then ask if you want to play. If you already have the files needed, you'll be able to launch, otherwise, it'll automatically ask if you want to download them. This is another huge download.

Awesome nostalgia trip. I decided to play it at the hard level to make it a challenge. Glad I did. I just got outside and the soldiers are trying to kill me.

Not finding it there and I have no idea how to use a Torrent file either. My attempts to open that gets me to software that doesn't seem to work (after opting out of installing all sorts of toolbars, etc).

LOL, evasive little bugger isn't it? Can't say I've ever seen where DLing a game was tricky.....but I'll try again a bit later and see.
