Gaming Mouse Pads

I noticed that I don't feel totally comfortable with my Logitech G5. The mouse is fine, but either my PC is too crappy to handle it perfectly, or I need a gaming mouse pad.

Are gaming mouse pads worth investing in or are they just a gimmick?

To me, the free ones are the best ones Lol. Ive got an Oshkosh Truck Corp one that works like a dream. Has the plastic "textured" surface but mouse still slides like a hotdog at a Ky factory.

A while back I picked up this pad called the Fragmat. I mostly purchased it because it had World of Warcraft stuff on it, and it was on clearance at Gamestop. Before I bought this thing, I was comfortable using my mouse on any surface. Bed, leg, bare table. But now I find myself carrying it everywhere. Wanna lay down on bed with the laptop and play some games? Need my mouse pad. It just seems.. right >.> Find out more at http://www.ideazon.com/us/products/fragmats.asp

IMO, HardOCP sells the best pads out there. It does make a difference to me. Mouse tracks better & slids more predictably.

Check 'em here:
http://www.ratpadz.com/

They are shipped free & will ring up $5 less than shown. I recommend the higher end one myself. I've owned both & at first they work the same, but a year down the road, the XT will still be good where the GS will be smothing out (in a bad way) & you'll be able to see the gridwork through the surface.

I'm still rockin' a Quake 3 Everglide. Also have an everglide giganta that I got for free from blade to review a long while back. Good surface, but after all these years, the 'heavy use' spots have worn smooth (as would be expected after some 3+ years of use). If I recall, they are very similar to the ratpadz.

Yup, they're similar. I just like the look of the rat pad better & I like helping out a site that has been helping me for so many years.
