I'm thinking of finally replacing my MX700... it's heavy, constantly feels kinda greasy, have to recharge the batteries every few days (not a big deal but still)... anyway I'd like to get something new and improved for online gaming, I was thinking of getting the G5? It's corded, but cheaper than the G7, and I think that not having to deal with recharging batteries and the subjective non-wireless improvement of response for online gaming would be a plus. Opinions?

I just got an MX700 from Qui earlier, and I love it. It's the best mouse I've ever had. But yeah, if you're going to change mice, G5 or G7 is an excellent choice for gaming.

I've got the G5 for half price and it's great. The cord is long enough that it doesn't pull on the mouse and it accelerates the USB port from 125 to 500 updates per second. I don't find the increase from 1600 to 2000 dpi that big a deal but I do find it handy being able to switch the dpi on the fly.

G5 for gaming.. no other option.. only thing. it doesn't like KVM's..

As I have it now.. the 510 is primary and on the KVM for the work/game box.. then the G5 is hooked to the USB on the game box.. thus i can use it for gaming when I need to.. or on the desktop of that box.. but the G5 is the ****..

I have an MX700 and I loved it until I got the MX1000... I don't need the fancy weights and all that crap.. This mouse is great for everything I've throw at it..

I just replaced my MX-700 with a Logitech G7 and it's great. It was less than $70.00 at New Egg (including shipping).

The G7 does not feel as big or as heavy as the MX 700 and comes with two batteries so one is always fully charged. The receiver for the mouse is also smaller than the one for the MX-700 so it takes up less desk space. I also like the fact that I can change dpi on the run with the G7.

The only thing about the G7 I don't like is the little button on the bottom used to turn the mouse on and off. I have a hard time turning the mouse on or off with my fat fingers.

I ended up getting the G5, so far I like it

Check out the Steelpad or Icemat those are good mousepads as far as mice go I would try a Razr Diamondback mouse.

I bought the Logitech Laser MX1000 2 months ago. Sweet mouse.
