Valve sucks...

I finally had to quit using WonID and move over to using Steam a few weeks ago in order to continue to play TFC. So I install it with no problem and move my maps and stuff over. I'm able to play the first night with no problems, as the registration of the cd key said the server was busy, and it would notify me later.
The following day is a different story. I tried to play TFC and it said my key was already assigned to a Steam account (fvck). So I follow the directions they offer, and I mailed them my original jacket CD with the cd key on it. It's been over 2 weeks with no answer on their end. They are suppose to email me when they change the cd key assignment to my Steam login name.
Really great customer support for a 5 year old game. Jeez... Give me a break. I could see this if the game was HL2, but this is an old game by industries standards. I'm sure most could find this game on line at a cost of $10.
I posted on the Steam forum, asking how long it takes to get a reply back from Valve, and a couple said it can take 3-4 weeks. One guy said he could not wait, and bought another fresh copy, only to discover that his new key was already assigned to someone else. What a drag.
They should have come up with a better option than that. I would be pissed if I had to purchase the game again, only to discover the key was already in use. What they should hve done is to allow you to play for 2 weeks, until you can prove that you have the original cd key. Allowing customers (like me) to "hang" and wait is totally unacceptable IMHO.
