i am SOOOOO digging this game. So many nice touches. I have never had this much fun playing single player since Half Life.

HL2 got SERIOUSLY owned by this game. They just had the bar raised for them.

I just went on a hairy ride across the beach with monsters chasing me. Meanwhile some human out there was taking pot shots at me and I swerve and see two bullet holes get stitched in the windshield.

It's so damn well done!

Just a pointer... the assault shotgun takes care of the monsters quick. even the big ass ones. they are slow so just dance around them unloading. The machine guns aren't as effective on them.

Well, the 100 round SAW is a very nice gun, too bad you only get to use it twice during the entire game.

SHEET. I'm at the long bridge leading to another part of the island. Monsters all around and after I manage to kill them off, the bridge is heavily defended by mercs. Tried and failed that level 8 times so far.

Back at it tonight...

the sniper rifle is your friend on that bridge if its the one i'm thinking of

This game is now in my top 10 games of all time. Seriously. I had an absolute blast.

Pred. I dropped the sniper rifle a while back unless there's one on that map

multiplayer is pretty sweet too
I like playing as an engineer standing by the ammo crates and spamming smoke grenades. The players with slow machines dont dare come near your base and if they do you pwn them with a pistol as they walk around at 7fps.

Also dropping the explosion packs around the flag ~3 seconds before you touch it on offence is cool. Drop them touch the flag run off and hide. Watch as the fools rush to touch the flag only to get blasted by your time bombs.

I heard sniping is fun in multi but i dont sniper i run off into the field and put time bombs on top of idiot snipers LOL now that is fun shit. They are snipin away i just lay a time bomb right next to them and they dont have a clue.

Vehicles are pointless in Farcry though they tend to blow up randomly im guessing its gas tank hits or something.. either way your better off on foot.

Was thinking of picking this one up...how are your frame rates for this game? What's the highest playable resolution(s) you're running? Is this game the "system killer" that all the reviews are gushing about?

i have no issues with it but im running intel 3.25zh with a radeon 9700 pro

i have most of my settings on high @ 1024x768 id say its bumping up and down from 35~70fps as i play the game online

Can anyone post a screenshot showing the monsters? I thought this only had humans as enemies.

about half way through the game you get to meet up with some nasty monsters/mutants. no screen shots i can't remember how to take screen shots of in a 3d game lol

Running an AMD XP2400+ w/Radeon 9800 and it's smooth at 1024x768. Far Cry automatically configures itself for best performance on your hardware.

They also have some other guys with rocket launchers..Couldn't seem to find those though.

finally picked it up yesterday, only played a half hour or so....... I suck pretty bad at FPS types, but I REALLY suck at this game! These guys are pretty dam good.......
