I'd like to hear some reviews. ESPECIALLY multiplayer. Specifically I want to know if multiplayer is as bad as MOHAA was. I loved MOHAA but I couldn't stand the bad net code.

It had a lot of server side code in it (footsteps, weapon fire) that made it feel aweful. Crap left over from early Quake3 code in there they never bothered fixing.

The worst was the delay of your footsteps - it always sounded like someone was following you because the sound of your footsteps was out of sync with your actual steps.

You didn't notice the problems on a LAN but on the Internet it was horrible - even on a good server.

When a game like DoD can do it SO much better using a 5 year old engine, you've gotta wonder...

I finished the single player missions a couple of days ago and I must say after being very tired of fighting WWII on my computer this was very fresh and fun..

Played multiplayer at a LAN last weekend and it was a blast. None of the problems MOHAA had. The 6-second kill cam is awesome. It essentially shows your last 6 seconds alive from the perspective of your killer. Very cool. Some of the multiplayer game types besides Deathmatch are interesting. There's one that is particularly fun called "Behind Enemy Lines". In this, 2 people are allied and must stay alive to get points. When an axis player kills them, the two people switch sides and the axis player must now stay alive as an allied soldier to get points. I'm probably not giving it justice in my description, but it is really a blast.

Hopefully, they will get the Linux server released and working (I wish they'd release it when the games release) and I'll be able to get something setup for my LAN instead of hosting it on my PC.

I am having a blast with the single player

and so far only played on a LAN and it kicks ass. Its a great new welcome because I am sort of getting sick of BF1942.

I am waiting for the price to come down a bit, then I will buy it and give multiplayer a whirl

I'm currently playing it single player only, and it's a blast. Some parts of the game are pretty intense like the defending of the canal. Lots of action. I haven't finished it yet, and the only mission that I thought sucked was the boarding on a German ship.

I just played through single player. I thought it was a bit short, but now I'm going through on a harder difficulty. Graphics are great. I even learned about a few new guns, like the russian pssh. Wish I could get me one of those!

single player only

was expecting a lot after reading reviews and playing the MOHAA series and was disappointed, very easy and very short missions

the squad based stuff lets your buddies go first and do most of the work if you cant keep up or take a wrong turn

I've actually reloaded MOHAA now and enjoy it more.

I like it but just cant play it for long periods, its just too intense. I'm playing on 2nd hardest difficulty and I seem to get stuck in spots dying over and over. I am currently in a building in stalingrad where I have to hold off a german onslaught until reinforcements arrive and I quit out of frustration because I keep dying over and over and over again. all my buddies are dead and I just cant hold them off long enough. I also have the body count set to highest and there are so many bodies lying around, its insane.
