Megarace. Man did that suck.

You want to go REAL far back (CGA color era) Tom Clancy's Hunt for Red October was AWEFUL.

Man, I hate to admit I actually BOUGHT Megarace. What a waste of money.

Here's some other stinkers I remember:

Sierra's Outpost
Daikatana (how can we EVER forgive Romero for those robot frogs?)

The grphics and gameplay on Die Hard do suck hardcore... There's some serious issues with the Radeon's and they've yet to acknowledge this...

Oh man, Outpost was the very first PC game I bought that came on a CD. I kept thinking "650 megs? There's no way a game can take up that much space."

I tried really hard to like that game too. I re-started it at least 10 times and every time I would get off to a great start. Everything would be going smooth until, for reasons that are beyond my comprehension, my colony would start going downhill. From that point on, nothing I did seemed to help. Eventually everyone died off.

Can we include console games here? I just remembered that I paid good, hard-earned money for Sewer Shark on my Sega CD. Lessons learned the hard way.

I kinda liked Hunt for Red October FP :) Though I never did beat it. always crashed right before the end!
Remember that old PT Boat game, from Microprose? Another graphically challenged CGA game :)

Back in the CGA video days there was a submarine game I bought - can't remember the name. It was advertised as unique because, unlike most games, you only had a limited number of lives, after which the game was NO LONGER PLAYABLE.

The game came on a floppy, and it was copy protected so you couldn't back it up (I tried). Each time you died it changed something on the floppy. If you died 3 times you couldn't play it anymore.

If you HAD to you could (supposedly) contact the publisher for a new disk, but you had to pay shipping.

Game sucked and, needless to say, while it might have lent a more emotional response to dying in the game it certainly didn't improve gameplay any.

Hey FP, couldn't you just pull the floppy out before you died? Anyway, that's messed up! What a stupid idea.

The only game that comes to mind as being crappy in recent memeory that I played a bit was The Sims (good thing I didn't buy it). I'm sure there's much worse games, but for something so popular, I found it complete tripe.

How dare you open such a can of worms ???

Gheykatana, I only played the demo (2 levels) and all I remember is green :D
I just checked the black list from the German PC Games and I couldn't believe they got a dozen games with a rating BELOW 10% !!! Including titles like: Ibiza Babewatch (9%), Big Brother 2 (9%) or the lowest ever: Erotica Island (1%).

It is kinda sadistic even mentioning such bad examples of "how not to make games" ... btw, I think I forgot my worst gaming experiences on purpose. I don't even want to remember those bad gaming experiences, they almost make me want to puke, ewww ... I rather remember the highlights of computer games, those that left you jaw dropping and drooling all over your keyboard (Half Life, System Shock 2, Jedi Knight 2 and and and ...).

One of my worst gaming experiences might've been the oh-so over hyped TRESPASSER, hyped for the physical engine but back in the days unable to run acceptable fps at even the highest performance PC ... I guess I could install it on my current PC but I refuse to do so, I've played too many good games recently.
