Read this at Bluesnews:

A quote on Fastest Game News from ION Storm's Rob Legg (thanks UN, PU, & VE) that seems to debunk the rumor that Daikatana 2 would use the Unreal engine:

"We will be doing a sequel to Daikatana sometime in the future," reveals Legg."But the timeline for that is undetermined at this point. As far as research and development is concerned, we're developing our own 3D game engine right now."

That article is from September 1998. I believe that Daikatana 2 has since been canceled.
