Wow! What a cool mod THAT is! Sorry if this seems like old news to those who play it daily but I havent played anything online in ages and after stumbling into a server playing this mod, I was very impressed. I havent had that much fun gaming online since the days of the old QW (Quake1) Chaos mod (my all time favorite deathmatch mod, long gone sadly).

Hmmm, I'm not familiar with the "Excessive" mod. I guess I need to check it out.

You get all weapons with non-stop amo (never run out) all firing VERY fast. It's a blast if you like DM like me.

yup, been playing it since it came out!!! fast and furious!! as long as you got the video card to run it :-)

FP, the mod is included with the 1.29 and up versions, maybe earlier? You then need to do nothing other than join a server running it through Gamespy (assuming you use Gamespy?).
Under the "game" heading just look for any "excessive free for all" or "excessive team" game and join in.

Well, I hopped on an empty server this afternoon to check this mod out. I know EvilHorace said the rate of fire was higher, but railguns and rocket launchers firing as fast as the machine gun, I don't know. I'll have to play a few games to see.

...............but, they don't normally fire THAT fast do they? I'd like it better if the grenades launched and blew faster (Grenades always seems lackluster to me in Q3 compared to previous Quake games) but I guess we can't have everything

if ya guys ever do get on a server (with peeps), try playing FFA or TDM rather than 1vs 1.

FFA/TDM is just downright crazeeeeee!!!!!

Interesting mod. I like it and I HATE Q3 - might make the game enjoyable. Makes me nostalgic for the frenetic pace of Quake1

Not only is it visually stunning with many players and all the weapons going crazy but the sound effects on my SB Live/Klipsch surround system is just awesome too

Lots of very cool, unusual sounds. I'm still not very good at this mod (don't ever seem to score well) but to me it's just fun getting in there and blasting away, watching all the action. I've never (yet) seen any mod with so much intensity. Definately gives the ol' video card and monitor a good workout, cooling fans ON.
