Made a Fb account and applied to the one mentioned earlier in this post. FC name is El Capitan so may not get accepted

Anytime you guys want to bestoy me with monies, I will be grateful.

Really plan to get enough money for a nice chip and then fly off to explore and relive the old Elite days on my C64

Once you're accepted in the FB group, they typically have a document that's pinned, with all the CMDR names, in game. You add your name to that list and then that way you'll be able to join the private groups in game. They'll see your request, look for your name on the list and add you. They're pretty quick about it.

So, whats the deal with sudden speed boosts just as I am about to arrive at a station? I am at 75% throttle, a few seconds from dropping out of sueprcruise, and suddenly speed jumps to max and back down again forcing me to circle around again.

Don't remember that happening. There are some gravity well effects when you are in close to planets.

Thats what I thought at first, but I've made sure to not be approaching a planet head on, and still happens about 2 times out of 10.

You don't have to be that close to feel the effects.
