Yeah I probably play too much, but I need it after work to get my mind off of work and reduce stress. Works.

They are supposed to buff the WD in the nest patch. I am playing with all kinds of weird builds using el cheapo stuff on the AH. I found a 2-H with about 1200 damages and 600 LOH for 20K so I have about 20k dps and 1300 LOH. Still can't handle act 2 inferno.

Made it as far as Ghom in Act 3 with a group. Act 3 is pretty rugged. I've got 1100 LOH, about 650 resist, 30k damage and 27k life and am barely able to handle act 3. I'm still getting one-shotted by mobs. grr.

So, you guys really like this game?
Now that I have a PC that'll play anything again I'm looking for new stuff but the reviews on Amazon for this game are really bad.

I've been Diablo twice now, and I'm at level 60. Now I'm going back to the 1 act to mine gold. All the decent weapons/armor/etc, you have to have gold to get the good stuff. I have yet to find any decent weapon with anything that I kill or turnover.

I've had to farm to buy gear as well. Only found a couple of things I could actually use. I've found maybe six legendaries, sold them for a total of about 2mm, which has financed the rest. Stuff I've found lately hasn't been real good, because I've had to drop my MF gear for resist gear. Inferno has a lot more high end loot, but I found a lot doing Siegebreaker runs in Hell mode.
Take a look at some of the cheap legendaries on the gold AH, go to each type of armor and search by buyout - there is some interesting stuff in the 1-200k range that has better stats than a lot of rare stuff and much cheaper for some reason. The set bobuses can also be huge. I could really move up if I could find a 1H weapon at about 1200 dps, but for now I use a 2H with good stats and 750 LOH and about 1300 dps.

Evil - It's kind of a dumb game. It is really gear dependent starting in Hell and there are tons of kiddies buying leet stuff at the real money AH, so prices on really good gear are silly. I think Skyrim or GW2 might be more fun - a lot more content and really cool visual stuff. I'm stuck in this b/c I want to finish it, but I've been looking at GW2.

Since I value my time more than sitting to mind gold, I found a web site that allowed me to buy 8,000,000 pieces of gold for $13. http://www.eing.com/
Bought some decent armor for my Barbarian and stuff for the Templar.

I agree with wvjohn - Diablo 2 was more challenging, but it's still a fun game with the different characters you can play.

For those of you who loved Diablo 2, would you say D3 lives up to it?

I have the game but I haven't bothered playing much of it because my computer gives me framerate lag even on lowest settings.

I'm still playing. I've beaten Diablo 5 times now with the Monk class at 60 with a Paragon level 15 using a bow and some other good hardware, but it's getting more difficult. I find beating Diablo easy compared to the last act before Diablo. One thing I find that I don't like is the repetitiveness of the levels after you beat Diablo and start again. At least they could have changed the dialog of the characters.

Gave up on it, gave my account to someone else. I don't like having to log in to Battlenet just to play single player (which is all I play). Maps and textures get repetitive despite the huge size of the game files.

I'm enjoying Torchlight II much better, which is very similar game play but a heck of a lot more entertaining.

Well, if FP likes TorchLight 2 and it's only $15 bucks on Steam, I decided to grab it for something to play while I'm up north next month using my laptop. Do I need to sign into Steam to play single player?

You can run Steam in off-line mode and it should still play.
