What racing games, arcade & console, would you say were the great games prior to Gran Turismo? Pole Position and Bump N' Jump are pretty legendary.

I had pole postiton on the atari 5200 (first analog system) and it was way too easy if you knew how to use the stick.

Yeah, Pole Position suited the non self centering joystick of the 5200 console, the screenshot above is from the 7800 console though.
