i just came from a local LAN . and it made me think i have heard this sad story a lot !
the guy gets there and finds his CPU cooler had come loose while transporting his rig to a LAN party and his rig is DOA !
it maybe a smart idea to check and make sure before you leave that its (CPU cooler )is secure or to remove it and bring some thermal paste with you and reinstall it at the LAN !
- also the airlines do not guaranty electronics from internal damage even if you do check them in as baggage . :(

Just leave your system on its side if you are worried about it.

When I flew last year, all I check into baggage was the case, Mobo, CD-RW, PSU, and VidCard.. The rest of it.. 2x80GB HDs, CPU, HSF, RAM road with me in my backpack.. I would recommend at least removing the HSF if you're gonna be on a LONG trip and you don't know what the roads are like.. If you've got a Heavey HSF like me.. SLK-900A w/92mm fan take it off and reinstall when you get there.. Because one good bump could be all she wrote.. Unless, like greg said, you put it on it's side.. But better safe than sorry..

well if you can fit it in your alloted space dont see any problem.

If Iget enough prizes there wil lbe a mod contest, but most these places have been pretty stingy this year.

Greg

4 hours away if your driving a golf cart... i can make it to gregs in like 2 hours if traffic is good doing the limit. dolton is like 45 minuets from me.. so its not that bad... but it is far.
