Why I'm voting Democrat

Post by Executioner »

I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I will.

I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in 10 years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They should break even and return the rest to the government for redistribution as the government sees fit.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe a few elitist liberals should rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never be able to get their agendas past the voters.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe that when the terrorists don't have to hide from us over there, when they come over here, I don't want to have any guns in the house to fight them off with.

I'm voting Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas 15% is not.

Amen! I cant truly contemplate why people are liberal these days. I can understand disagreeing with people on a few key issues but I havent a clue why people would want higher taxes a smaller military and a leg up for those who did nothing to deserve it

Thank god for Americans like you. Look at how much better off we all are today after 8 years of Republican leadership. Instead of tax and spend, we just have spend and spend. We have a smaller military as well as a military that is stressed to the limit. We have many dead soldiers and many more horribly maimed for life. Do you feel safer from terrorists now than you did before we invaded Iraq? Is it good to have our people caught in the middle between warring Islamic factions in some desert hellhole that was only held together by the iron hand of a tyrant? How many more arms and legs and lives will it take? Do you know? Does anybody? Do we need enough troops over there to just wipe out one faction or the other?

Think about how effective the Republicans have been in stopping the social change that makes you so uncomfortable. After all, Republican businessmen NEVER hire illegals for their meat packing plants and other businesses. What did happen to immigration reform???

Oh, and lets harp on how bad government is. Hmm, is it possible that greater supervision and regulation of the home mortgage industry might have prevented or softened the housing crash?

And those silly Democrats and their government give-away programs. But wait, didn't the Fed just bail out failing investment banks with unprecedented loan guarantees? Oh those poor starving investment bankers! Thank god for Republican government give-aways. Those bankers who went heavily into mortgage backed securities based on crap loans certainly deserved government help. At least most of them were probably not minorities...

Of course it is not surprising that this is the time for you to rally around this kind of reactionary drivel. Keep a firm grip on your presumptions, assumptions and half-truths because this is certainly not the time to look back on a Republican President's record of achievement and good decision making.

So make sure you keep quivering in anger over the thought of a lesbian spanish-speaking card carrying member of the ACLU kicking down your door and prying your guns out of your hands. The country may be going to hell in a handbasket, but as long as you focus on your fears you won't have to think about what a hell of a mess we are in.

As for the democrats and future tax issue goes, realize that after 8 years of creating a HUGE national debt from Iraq, all started to basically kill ONE "bad guy" no less, someone (IE the US tax payers) will sooner or later have to repay all that and taxation or cutting out other things we now have, are the only ways to do that. The money won't just fall out of the sky. It's a loan and has to be re-payed, not free money that can go un-payed forever.
Does anyone really think our current economy is good now?
Even if he's all talk, hope for change is what will get Obama in.

BUSH IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE?

Pass some of that crack you're smoking.

The point is moot anyway. Cheney runs this country, and HE'S certainly a conservative.

I wish there weren't parties, or at least that there were more. I feel that just two parties is just not enough competition to keep corruption down. I don't feel that the Republicans are conservative enough (as well as being bad with money) & that the Democrats are just out there.

We all know that George Bush is an idiot, but look at the choices for president we had in 2004. I agree - I hate this 2 party system. I still stand behind Ron Paul as I feel he is the only true conservative running, but the Democrats are becoming more socialists like the idiots in the California legislator. These idiots can't even acknowledge that cuts need to be made to their pet projects. All they want to do is raise taxes. In fact, since 2004, they received 40% more tax money, but still want more. We are lucky enough to have a small majority of republicans that can block their wishes. We already have the highest tax rates of any state.
