I dunno, maybe because he routinely calls people "Communists" and "Unpatriotic" (along with "Ideologue," lol) and because he pretty much always supports everything that Bush does says or does.

As far as I see it.... if Moore thinks that capitalism is an evil system, and a sin, that makes him a communist. What else is there.... there is capitalism, and communism. I guess a monarchy, with serfs, and such would count as an economic system, but I dont think that he would qualify for that....

Economies are, in the order marx put them

Aristocracy (feudalism, surfs and all)
Captialism
Socialism (note: this is what all "communist" societes so far has been)
Communism (We don't need to work to feed ourselfs or keep shelter, because technology has advanced so far, think replicators in star trek. Humans can devote their time to pursuing the arts or whatever crap they feel like)

According to marx socialism would evolve over time into communism, I hope everyone can see how wrong he was, and the reasons why. While at the same time his idealistic communism would be a great way to live if we could ever achieve it.

Mr. Moore is really far into the Socialism basically with that kind of economy the "people", in an ideal world, control the means of production. Kinda like saying everyone who works for a company owns part of the company. The problem with this is government stepping in like in russia and running everything and divying up everything, like moore and his "lets tax the rich people 70% and give that money to the poor" idea.

Well this is kinda turning into a rant, but I wanted to inform everyone since I just took a philosophy class and its all fresh in my mind. So to sum up Captialism is the best we can do, socialism doesn't work in practice and communism is a dream.

Reminds me of a funny headline I saw a few months ago. In San Francisco's last mayoral election the biggest challenger to the incumbant Democrat was a Green. The headline read: "San Francisco: the only place in America where the biggest challenge to the left is the further left." :D

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black....

To be excessively personal, one of the things that makes me think one of my college age sons is intellectually immature is his affection for Michael Moore's books. Moore exagerrates, lies, and substitutes innuendo for fact. He's a master manipulator and propagandist.

That being said, there are plenty of commentators, authors, media personalities etc. on the right who thrive in a similar way.

Both sides have people and constituencies who are blinded by how far they have gone.

The only thing that separates Moore out from any of the authors and commentators on either side who function in a similar fashion is that Moore has the ability to get movies made. And for good or for ill, after this one, he is going to be able to make more.

As for the money he makes, more power to him. I don't like the way he makes it, but going from being editor of a free weekly in Flint to a movie producer took some doing.

I don't see him as constantly supporting Bush, I've seen him be critical of his previous actions, and also express his feelings of what the administration is doing wrong, and what they should be doing (obvioiusly in his opinion) to better itself. It does seem to me like he tries to go out of his way to support his view that he's an independant, though. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. At least I think I know where he stands on issues, whether i agree with him or not.

bah...most of this site is...dare I say, crap? I don't know...maybe put some more thought into downing the Channel, the editorialist, or have more examples to back up your opinion.

Not trying to start an argument here...just trying to get people to be more accepting of him, 'cause I think he's all good. Sure he says things I disagree with, but you just gotta brush those things off, I think he says a lot of interesting things, and I learn a lot from his program.

Such as the words opine and bloviate. At first I thought maybe he was making them up but they are in dictionaries if you look hard enough.
