Okay, I tried it today on my Moto-X Android phone (I had a micro USB to female full size USB adapter I'd bought for connecting flash drives to my tablet).
It DOES work! Worked with both a hard wired and a wireless mouse. As soon as you plug the mouse in, you get a mouse pointer on the screen that works exactly like the touch interface.
