Any Andriod users know exactly how I can move music files to my SD card?

I can't believe the online run around I'm reading yet no definitive "how to" instructions on how exactly I can move 13 GB of music files from my phones device storage to the 64 GB card. My 32 GB phones momory is almost full and it's only 3 weeks old.
Some say to use the included "My Files" but I have no idea how to make it move the "music" file.

Then some say to use ES File Manager, so...got it but then what? Sorry but I don't see any obvious methods to do that.

No, I don't really even need to have music on my phone but now it's there and my SD card has plenty of space for all that and then some.

Phone's Galaxy Note Edge btw. Was going to get an S6 but I like the Notes size better and it's edge stuff is more functional.

It's not easy to do. I've ran in to problems trying to move files from the internal memory to the SD card. The easiest way I've found is to remove the SD cards and put it in a USB adapter. Stick that in your computer. Then, hook your phone to your PC. It should recognize it as a USB storage device. You should be able to move your files from the internal storage to the SD card now.

ES File Manager is basically the Android version of Windows Explorer, and it will do the job. The SD card and local memory are two different locations in the menu (not intuitive - select at the top) but it'll be slow to move that much data. Err's method will be much faster. Android phones move data very slowly internally. It's not a fast data bus.

If you haven't done it yet, you need to configure the phone to act as a USB flash drive when you plug it into a USB port.

What FP said.. I haven't used a Droid phone in a long time, but I used to use the Linda File Manager to move my stuff back and forth..

I had previously used a synch program to add music from itunes via my PC, initially thinking....why not? ......but seriously, it added almost 14GB of music to the device's memory and I really don't need to have any music on it being that I have 3 ipod touches with my whole music collection, not to mention Amazon and Pandora streaming.

So in file manager, I discovered today that I could just delete that 14GB of music.....gone.

Won't try that again.

Thanks for the tips above however guys. I'm still learning stuff about my new phone as it's way more complex than my previous 2 yr old S4 was.

Yeah, I also use an iPod Touch for music, podcasts and audiobooks. I only carry a few playlists on my phone for emergencies.

So far the problem I see with ES file manager is that what it identifies as say my device storage photos and what the phone calls them are not the same thing.

For example, the phone was initially storing photo's/vids on the device memory (now changed to SD card). There are about 30 pics on the device's memory now that I want to move to the SD card. I'm fairly sure that'll be easily done by just plugging the phone into a PC, finding those files and do a copy/paste but from what I've seen so far in ES file manager, I haven't found those same files there by name. My free time's been limited so I'll look more later but I think that'll be easier via PC as I always use a PC to copy my phone pics, videos anyway.

I believe you might be looking in the wrong place. That's just my thoughts based on my experiences, where I've found things in SUBFOLDERS instead of where I thought made the most sense.

Most android phones have a pictures folder, but photos can be stored anywhere and the phone's gallery app will find them.

There are actually three sections of storage. One is the actual Android OS and you shouldn't touch anything in there. The other is local storage, and then there's the SD card.

If you Google your phone model and folders, you'll probably find a lot of info on default folder locations.

I finally spent some time to look at the SD card situation. My PC can't read it in my phone. The same was readable in my old phone and when I got the new phone, the guy at the store just pulled it from the old one, dropped it in the new one.
Was working then too, Gallery showed all my old pics before and now I can't access them by phone or PC. Windows shows that ~5Gbs are used (which is right) so they must still be there but for whatever reason, they're not visable now.
If I use a program like APP Manager 3 to move an APP, it says that the SD card is full and there's over 50GB that's unused.

Any ideas what happened and how I can possibly fix it? The pics are backed up on my PC so that's not a problem.

Do you have the phone configured to look like a USB flash drive when connected to a PC? There's a setting for it:

I'll check that later but it use to just be able to open it. I want to try removing the SD card and see if I can read it via card reader.

The only thing I remember changing on the phone about when I last saw the old pics was changing the phones back to enable wireless charging via pad. Unlike the S6, with the Note you have to replace the back piece to make that work.
Then, I wonder if putting the phone on the wireless changing pad upside down, easily done, might have effected the card? Just speculating........

R&R'd SD card, rebooted, pics on card and moved apps back online (on phone). App Manager3 still AFU'd, un-installed for now. Will seek better method, hopefully?
