I don't think that making it illegal is going to stop the kids from doing it.. lol

If you have a hands-free setup for your phone I don't really see the problem. Isn't much different then carrying on a conversation with a person in the car.

Most these laws tend to make it so you can't be pulled over for that specifically, defeating its purpose. Sadly it is something that should be a blanket law, as it is now, it could be overturned on basis on discrimination because of who it targets.

It isn't like cellphone use while driving is suddenly safer because you hit the Big 30... so passing such a law hardly even cuts into the larger percentage of offenders.

texting was banned here which is great and all, but the enforcement of it, along with logic, just doesn't match up. i see people dialing away in traffic...same thing...emails are ok, but not texting?...lol. the other great part is how they enforce it. a young woman here recently killed someone by crushing them while texting. she got a year sentence. i wonder what i would be sentenced for killing someone while driving when NOT texting?

I duno... talking with someone in the car is still an extra set of eyes. Most people I see talking even with hands free gesture like someone can see them.
