Windows can't see all your Android device's folders. Use this app!

Post by FlyingPenguin »

Ever create a new file or folder on your Android phone, and can't find it when you connect it to your PC? But it's there if you use a file explorer on the phone? That's because the phone needs to periodically rescan it's storage by running a process. Until that process runs, recently created files or folders won't appear.

I used to have this problem all the time on my Nexus 7 when I made backups. I couldn't see the backups unless I copied them to a folder that was visible to Windows (via ESExplorer on the phone).

This app just allows you to manually run the scan service. Right afterwards, all files & folders will be visible to Windows.

The Android KitKat update broke this app - it just crashes. Someone else wrote another one that works differently but effectively does the same thing:
