HP Envy M6-1105DX

Post by Qui Gon-Jinn »

Grabbed one to replace my Samsung I have been using for a year. The Samsung is a great laptop but lack of dedicated video card has come to drive me nuts. Keeping it for now as a spare/media device.

The HP is the A10 CPU 2.3gbz 6gb Ram and 750HDD. Radion 7660g video card. Plays most anything I care about just fine. Windows 8 (Need to downgrade that but can't get windows 7 to install for lack of driver) is ok but annoying at points. See how things go in a few weeks. 3 USB 3.0 ports are nice. Beats audio is a nice add-on. Price point around $600 isn't bad for the specs.

Just because I am an a$$hole.. doesn't mean I don't care..

Sadly that one has an integrated card as well. The 7660g refers to the graphics processor on the A10 CPU.

I picked up one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834215663

It was discount for $30 less at the time. Has a decent A8 processor, but more especially it has a dedicated card in addition to the one on the CPU which you can be used in combination together (Crossfire).
When all else fails, replace the user.
