I am becoming more and more convinced that NVidia and 3rd party manufacturers had extremely little stock, but NVidia just wanted an early release date to overshadow AMD's announcement.

I think so too FP. However, this is going to backfire if Big Navi runs close to the RTX 3080 and AMD manage to get the card into users' hands.

NVidia also has the PS5 and S-box Series X to worry about cutting into earnings too. I think AMD makes the chips for both. I'm not in a hurry to get a PS5 but I'm likely to see stock before the 3080's stock is refreshed.
