That must be a typo the card is actually 12 and 1/4 inches long.

You're right - typo on the NE site 12.2047 inches per Gigabyte (310 mm)

According to one review all the Gigabyte chips are binned - probably the same with the MSI and ASUS OC cards too.

Having just sunk $800 on a monitor, I can't rationaliz a card upgrade yet. Maybe next year.

The trusty GTX 760 seems to be running everything decently at full or nearly full eye candy though. Only time I see it go below 60fps is in Metro Last Light Redux, and with GSync it isn't noticeable.

I'm running a GTX 660 with no problems, but I don't play as many games as you guys. For me, I don't need an upgrade.

I'm thinking this holiday season is the perfect time to treat myself to that Asus ROG monitor and the GTX 970.

2, 3, 4 way SLI with 980. For now, 2 looks like the magic number - 93% over 1 card.

I got a 970 a when it released since I was still rocking a GTX 470, and I am pretty pleased. Great performance for the money.

Too bad all I have been playing lately is Civ 5 :D

Yeah, the faster core and boost were a plus, for sure, considering the price difference was minimal.
