hey guys...i recently bought an ASRock K7S41GX MoBo, Installed and running fine. but i seem to have problems trying to get my ATI Radeon 9600SE to work with it. I made sure tht its seated right and everything. and i know the card works (working fine till i switched boards).
The monitor doesnt come on at all. Im not sure if it'll work if i disable the on-board VGA, but dunno how to do it...no option in BIOS, and no jumper settings were specified in the MoBo manual.
appreciate any help, thanks!

never mind...the card was busted. switched to a BFG GeForce 5500 OC.

i hear there were some issues with the 9600 like that. it is far better then a 5500 nvidia though.

You DO need to disable the onboard card though, unless you want to use it for dual monitor. If there's no setting in BIOS then go into the Windows Device Manager and disable it (don't remove it from the Device Manager, just disable it). That will keep Windows from assigning it any resources.

actually, its not bad compared to the 9600Se tht i had. just a lil less core speed, but has more memory. anyway, this is just like a standby card, till i save up enough to get a a better one. and i didnt spend snything on it....as the ATI one still had warranty, so just exchanged!
and FlyingPenguin. The motherboard was supposed to recognize and switch if an AGP card was plugged in, it didnt, tht was my problem...turns out the card was bad. it's all good now.

k, one more question guys....the card tht i replced my old 9600se was the bfg geforce 5500 oc 256mb card with clock speed of 290MHz and memory of dual 350MHz. It doesnt seem too good. but for another $20 more i can get a 9600XT. do you think i should go ahead and get that? is it worth it?
