well.. inital experience wiht ATI = SUCK!
I put my 5200 back in and everything is good again. i could not get my second monitor to work wiht the ATI and it was all messed up. Im going to blame it on bad hardware. when i changed the HS the core was all chipped up like really bad so im gonna guess that has somting to do with it... i guess im gonna have to RMA it.. i have another computer ill try it in first to confirm the problem.

Did you get ALL of the nvidia driver out of the system before you installed the ATI? When I went from nvidia to ATI that caused me some problems. I did all the normal changing to VGA to dump the drivers and even ran the nvidia driver clean up tool. System still seemed buggy so I ended up doing a format and clean install. Dont give up on ATI you would be cheating yourself if you do even if the card is bad get another one.

actually I had that red line thing also, and it happened with a fan change.

yea the die had really bad looking corners. I threw a new HD in and installed XP fresh and it did the same thigs... i got this card in a 8rda+ and it seems to be ok so far....
If i have to... i Have to find a stock HS for it since i allready cut it up, and rma it or return it for somthing else.

ok.. now im gonna need a stock ati heatsink to put back on this thing so i can RMA it and hopefully get a good one this time. I should of stopped when i seen the condition of the DIE on the GPU. here is a picture of whats left of the stock HS... if you have one that you could show a picture of i can tell you if its the one i need. I machined the one part off to use on the MOBO for the mosfets.
