ok, unistall all display drivers for your current computer
Download driver cleaner- boot into safe mode use driver cleaner. I like to run regclean as well
boot back into windows and install the 9600

Also don't bother with the drivers that came with it. Download the latest drivers from ATI's website.

Saphire has nothing to do with it.. I have had this problem myself, and though the above mentioned stuff should work, I think I ended up doing a repair install with the new vidcard and that fixed the problem..

I can't see how that could have anything to do with the card. It sounds like a problem with the driver installer, which is why I recommended downloading the latest ATI driver.

Have you done what it recommended? Have you uninstalled the old driver (and the new one), let it boot into Windows and cancelled the auto driver install (which will make it run in standard VGA mode). Then installed the driver?

Also, as I said before, don't bother with the driver they gave you with the card it's almost certainly outdated. Download the latest Catalyst driver from ATI.COM

Also are you installing the driver using the setup.exe for it, or are you trying to use the Windows driver wizard and just pointing it to the driver CD? The latter will not work. The drivers must be installed first using the setup file, then you reboot and Windows detects the card and installs the driver.

I had that problem before. Go to start menu, open run, type devmgmt.msc hit ok. Click plus sign on display adapters, right click on whatever is in there and choose unistall.

I dont know if this is the the right way but it worked for me.
