took advantage of the deal at CC this week, and picked up a 9800NP. I've been a faithful Nvidia user up until now and have a few questions.

Here's my system specs:

Epox 8RDA Nforce2 board
2000+ XP (not OC'ed)
1024mb PC2700
9800NP
WinXP

FYI, I didn't do a reformat and reinstall from scratch. Instead, I used the latest version of Driver Cleaner to remove the Nvidia drivers. So far, all my games appear to run fine.

(1) What driver would you recommend I use? Currenly using the latest Omega drivers based off the 3.9's.

(2) One of the things I loved about the Nvidia control panel was the option to up the color correction values to give me brighter and more vivid colors. How exactly would I do this in the Catalyst control panel?

(3) Kinda new to this Radeon thing....anything else you'd recommend?

i stick with the real drivers. I dont have luck with them omega ones.

there is the color tab in the driver thing. jsut use that. but the colors are right the first time you dont need to ajust them like nvidia.

I also recommend the ATI drivers. I'm still using the 3.7. 3.8's were screwed up and I haven't gotten around to updating to the 3.9s.

I have the same mobo with an XP 2400+ and running a Radeon 9800. VERY nice performance improvement from my old GF4 4800SE.

There are color correction settings in the advanced settings - at least there are with the standard drivers.

I pretty much use the default settings on everything. Looks awesome, runs great.

I recently switched from Nvidia to ATI as well. I had problems with the CAT 3.7 and 3.8 drivers in Counter Strike but the CAT 3.9 drivers cleared them up for me so I am sticking with them for now.
