GeForce 3 Ti500 or ATI Radeon 8500LE 64MB.
Generally the Radeon 9000 Pro is slower than Radeon 8500.

Preferance for the nvidia if gaming is most important or the radeon 8500 for best all round. Used retail 8500 is the best. I got one, love it.

Best deal I could find for my budget was a Leadtek A180 TDH G4 MX440 64M DDR 8X AGP $75 shipped from newegg.com.

Granted I probably could have got a better but it supported 8X and had DDR so I dont think I did too bad. Last bench scored about 8100....still tweeking.

GF3 Ti-500 will probably be slightly over your budget. Shop around. They're getting scarce though - NVidia is phasing out the GF3 line.

GF3 Ti-200 is probably your best bet if money's tight, and the good ones are usually overclockable to nearly Ti-500 speeds.

Here's some listed on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.a ... tion=ti200

The Gainward's a nice card for the money especially with free shipping.

If you can save up a little more, for $125 you'll get a card that will be a better performer and last you longer. The Geforce4 Ti4200 would be a better choice now.

The AOpen card listed there is a nice one. I don't like the cheapie EVGA cards.

I just picked up a OEM Sapphire 9100 from Newegg deleiverd for $73!

My other choice was the ATI 9500pro, but didn't want to go that high!

I was upgrading from a GeForce2 MX400. It doubled and tripled the FPS rates.

I finally settled on a Radeon 8500LE 128 megger (Made by Saphire Tech)
It's good, has DVI and TV out (Stupid card is PAL format though....) That's what I get for ordering from NCIX but it's still a great card all around but I paid 190 bux CAD with shipping... and that was nearly 6 months ago
