strange symptom when playing UT2003...the game will pause and sort of twitch/stutter for a second every 4-5 seconds continuously (like something is happening in the background on the pc causing it to slow down for a second...but nothing is running). it doesn't matter what eye candy i have turned on/off...or resolution. when it is playing inbetween the twitching, it is silky smooth. the jittering happens whether i play online or single player.

EDIT-----> i've messed with it more and found that it is ONLY happening when playing online...but even when i play on a local LAN server w/ a ping of <20ms. ???????????

i've tried adjusting the Network setting and selected both Cable and then LAN/T1, and get the same results.

ugh.

ok, it seems to be a sporadic problem...i had 2 matches on 2 separate servers last night without ANY problems. i've read on various forums that alot of people are having the lag problem, and the net code is in question...seems some servers are overloaded and the prediction algorithms are not as good as in the original UT yet.

it's been ok since my original post...weird. i'm going to go run the benchmark again to see if there are any improvements over the demo.

It could be the server your on... I caught some bad lag when playing it that seems like i was gettin' 5 fps....

Don't forget....every game has it bugs when it's first released
I'd like to see the day a game ships with NO bugs at all !

they'll spit out a patch to improve stuff soon enough
