How long till firesale prices on V5s?

I'm guessing the card once touted as the saviour of eyeballs everywhere (due to it's OGSS FSAA) will be $50-$75 on forum boards soon. No one will want to pay more for a board w/o support, a pretty good deal for a card described by many as "the best you can buy" up until a few weeks ago.

In a walk in closet somewhere in CA, a red eyed Brotha is working his way through a case of Wild Irish Rose 40 proof wine, wondering what happened.

Since Best Buy is pulling them off the shelves as you read this, I expect NEW ones to be selling for chump change on surplus mailorder sites soon.

Might be a cheap way of buy a lot of 3D power if you don't mind a lack of driver support...

Who put the chancres on your sack?

Do you for some reason DOUBT that you will be able to buy a V5 dirt cheap when support ends?

Are you mad because you have a $300. card that has become worthless?

Do you think Brotha was an "all around good guy" that you should defend?

I speculated about something I haven't seen a post about and I'm a "troll"?
Why? Because I don't worship cards I think we can all pretty much agree have been shown to be not what the public wants?

At Office Depot today they had the v5 4500 for $89 and the 5500 for $109. Plus there was a $10 off coupon one could use on either. I passed.

That's cheap for a V5 5500 !! Gonna swing by OD tomorrow and see if they're as low here too. As far as the V4 goes, that's still about $88 too high. I had one of those ( got it in a trade) for about a day and that was one of the lousiest vid cards I've ever used. What a POS !!!! Thanks for the tip.

I may pick one up in about 6 months. This is going just like that goat-blowing wonder, the Viper II. That card is selling for a few bucks these days. Boy, I remember a year ago when I almost bought a Viper II. Luckily I was talked out of it by some kind souls

The V5 will probably be a LITTLE better investment than the Viper2, but a card without drivers is as bad as porn without women.

What you lack is intelligence. This is good news for all, if my speculation comes to pass. (too bad GTS Ultras won't be $50 next month)
