I found tons of posts all over the internet stating that the Voodoo3 1000 can be "converted" into a 2000/3000 card by enabling the 2nd texture unit via a registry hack. Now everyone claims there is one but no one actually has one. Do you guys know a link for this registry hack or where it is located in the registry? I looked thru the 3dfx interactive section in the registry and didn't find anything.

Oh yeah, I'm doing this for a friend who has a Voodoo3 1000 16MB AGPthat I'm trying to get running a "little faster than normal" if you get my drift. Right now it's running stably at 150Mhz and it would be sweet if we could get that 2nd texture unit running! ;)

check the review at anandtech as I am pretty sure they discussed the performance gain from 2nd TMU hax0ring.

this could be it

taken from anandtech:

"simply go under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Display\0000\Glide

And add the value

FX_GLIDE_NUM_TMU

And set it equal to 2."

this is for the "Velocity 100"...but i've also seen V3 1000 cards. the difference is the velocity has 8MB of memory...the v3 1000 has 16MB.

let us know if it works! :)

Cool! I'll go over and try that today. Where did you find the article on Anandtech? I couldn't find it anywhere.
