Actually the 9800np memory is clocked slightly lower than the 9700pro. The 9800np is a better buy though for the core revisions that were previously mentioned. All I can say is that I love my 128mb 9800pro which had a noticable difference when compared to my 9500np. ;)

According to this:
http://www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/learnmore ... _dimen.htm

http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9800/ ... mpare.html

The 9800NP is clocked at 325/580 while the 9700Pro is 325/620 so I guess it technically is a bit slower.. but there's no way you can actually tell... there should be no more than a few frames difference.

Agreed. With the core revisions to the 9800np, even with the slower memory it performs on par with a 9700pro. They also seem to ramp up better than the 9700pro with many people being able to attain 9800 pro speeds.
