Get one before they disappear. ATI apparently is going to discontinue production of the 9500 core. The recently announced 9600 {Pro}'s will replace them. From what I've heard the 9600's series underperform the Radeon 9500 Pro {which is no surprise-got less pipes?}.Originally posted by ji1831

Now see I thought that the 9600 was going to be about the same speed 325/350, for about 170.00
and they will sell a slightly slower 9600 for 150.00
Im runnin a r9700/pro, and Im set, When the 9800 256 comes out I might consider getting one if the price is about the same, pop this 9700 out and runit in my g/f comuter and sell the 9100.

Speed alone doesn't decide how good a product is. If it was the GF FX would be a great product instead of a mediocre product. The GeForce FX reminds me of the P4-clocks speeds have to be clocked up to get the performance.
A 256 MB Radeon 9800 Pro is what I'm leaning to. Some games are going to take advantage of 256MB.
With good reason I don't have much confidence in Nvidia delivering what is promised in a timely manner. No doubt the NV35 will be a better product and likely will beat the Radeon 9800 Pro. But its not just about fps, its about fps with great image quality. And right now Nvidia is sadly lacking. [h] did a good review that covers image quality on the new GF FX line. http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NDQ0LDQ=
the best line: "Again we are left to wonder what NVIDIA engineers were doing over the past 18 months with GFFX."
