Umm I got the BFG GeForce 6800gt Overclocked version of the card, and I would just like to butt in and say you should definitely head on over to http://www.guru3d.com and download the 71.24 forceware driver set. This set isnt really official but it is digitally signed by microsoft, and they are the best (and also ONLY WORK with) for the 6*00 series of Nvidia cards..... I cant even tell you how much I have noticed things such as Half Life 2 and Need 4 Speed U 2 increase in performance..... go check em out.

Slightly off topic but not,

My new eVGA 6600GT AGP runs at about 130F (measured with a lazer light temp gun) with default clock speeds and stock heatsink/fan. The card overheats under a high load (1280x...res x2AA..ect..) for most games, and wont even survive a 3dMark Benchmark. The screen seems to break up and then the comp locks up. I can only play games at my old graphix card settings or slightly better.

I've read lots of stuff about problems with the 6600GT AGP but Im pretty convinced its a thermal problem. Any suggestions? Would a new heatsink do the trick? Which? Anyone else have thermal issuses with stock heatsinks/fans?:ithappens
Yea, its kinda like that....

well, you can remove the heatsink and clean the core and sink. then apply artic silver 5.

But if you are doing that, might as well go the estra step and also put on the VGA silancer 5 for it. Such a nice addition.
