what video card?

Post by daddio12 »

Just got an Asus p4p800 deluxe MB. Anyone got ideas for a video card?
I will be initially installing 512 kb memory, P4 2.4
AGP 8x required voltage is 1.5
Any suggestions??

agp prices are starting to fall - for cheap look for a 9700 pro in the 125-150 range, for rich look for a 9800 pro in the 175-200 range

Good deal here on a Radeon 9800 PRO:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... WSE&depa=0

SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9800PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP -BULK -OEM

$214 w/Free shipping at NewEgg

I wouldn't get anything less than a 9600 PRO right now, and I'd definately get a 9800 if you can spare the change.

9600 Pro here for $145: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 301&depa=0

I agree with FP a 9600 Pro or better. I have a 9600 Pro with 256 megs and really like it. Not as fast as the 9700 or 9800 but it plays all my games silky smooth at a decent resolution with all the eye candy on so I am happy with it.
