Failing fan on 4200ti

Post by englishhippy »

This is a right bummer but I have to kinda flick start the fan on the heat sink every time I have to reboot, it does not move when I switch on only works with a bit of a push, can I get this replaced? maybe a better fan? The card is a Gainward and I do tend to leave the PC on more or less 24-7

You might check it for dust buildup. That would cause that problem.

Otherwise check to see if it is still under warranty. If not then you may need to replace the hsf with another. Not sure you can just replace the fan, but check the size and see if you can get them from any online or local shops.
