Radeon 64 ddr install problem

Post by BanjoK »

Hi All!

My brother just gave me his radeon cause he got a geforce4. I changed the adpater to VGA. I removed all my geforce ddr drivers. I deleted all inf's related to the geforce and installed the card. I installed the latest drivers. Card works fine.

Now for the problem. There are two unknown deviced in my device manager and each time I boot up it asks for the inf's of these devices. I cannot figure out what it is looking for since the card installed fine.

For now I put back the geforce1 ddr.

Anyone know what is going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You have the drivers disk right?

Just remove ALL ati stuff reboot, and DONT let windows find the stuff tell it to cancle.

Install all the stuff off the CD, then install the latest drivers and ati player and what not. that should fix it.

Thanks Greg!

When I installed my geforce I had it update the Vgart (?). This caused my system big problems and I needed to format. I installed the drivers for the geoforce without doing the vgart and all worked fine. I hope it was vgart.

Anyway I saw that the radeon wanted to install gart. I was hesitant to do so because of past experience. Maybe I will just leave the geforce in. :c(

Thanks for the quick reply!
