I actually do believe that there was some kind of coordinated effort behind this. There was a time there when every few months Google would tweak YouTube and break Firefox, but it would miraculously continue working on the world's worst browser: IE.

Now with MS going with Chromium browser for Edge, I'm curious to see what happens with FF. Will it die? I prefer using FF as I don't use Chrome that much.

FF is my primary. I just like the way it works and there's a couple of add-ins, like side tabs, that don't exist on Chrome.

I use Chrome only for accessing shared services on my phone's Google account (mail, contacts, messaging, maps, etc).

I personally like that FF remembers each site's last download location.
