my wifes computer a windows 10 desktop. using a cisco am10 usb adapter . will read my modem but not connect to the internet , im getting a signal error and the cisco am is warm to the touch. im getting a error yellow triangle in the spacebar were the wifi icon is ? any ideas it's reading my modem access.we dont use her computer much any more and I feel lost not worked on computer for a while , kind of stop playing around with them after getting are place here in florida for like 3 years ago now. im just been using my laptop .

uninstall/reinstall? I just generally buy the cheapo $25 rosewill usb wifi adapters from newegg, they work for a year or two, then rinse and replace.

If a driver re-install does not fix it, it's likely died. It was a pretty cheap device to begin with so dont expect those to last for terribly long.

also thinking the units at least 6-8 years old.
