I've had cable internet since it came to this area, more than 16+ yrs ago and sure, works great, fast, no problems BUT.........it's now about $70 per month!!!

I have Direct TV (now owned by AT&T) for TV and I get offers to switch to AT&T U-Verse internet for $15 per month for the first year, then it's $27 per month after that.

It's tempting but might I be sorry? I don't really play internet games very often anymore, usually only in Winter when there's nothing else to do here so that's not really all that important.

I went from Verizon FIOS to AT&T for both internet and TV. On the TV, we've had issues with the programming box. I fixed it by placing a fan on top of the unit (it gets quite warm). The small fan plugs into the rear of the unit which has a USB port. So far its working now for 4+ weeks.

As for the internet, it's not as fast as Verizon FIOS, but it works and is acceptable. When I signed up, I got a 2 year deal with a fixed price.

the problems I have seen with dish or direct has been storms.also for me up north was tree's but this has all been for tv. as for internet I know there service is slower then most cable connections . if you use like google ,apple or Roku for TV there maybe problems .I know up north we just have bare min. cable internet and I get lag trying to use my cable on are Roku . here in florida we have higher speed internet and no problems using the Roku. but I'm also paying twice as much as the $15 per month for Comcast internet in Michigan.
