T-Mobile / Experian Data Breach

Post by FlyingPenguin »

So let me understand this. 15 million T-Mobile customer's COMPLETE credit applications (one-stop-shop for identity theft) are stolen due to Experian's incompetence.

To make up for this, Experian is offering 2 years free credit monitoring via a credit monitoring service EXPERIAN OWNS - because they were SO RESPONSIBLE the FIRST TIME.

Not to mention that these people will be ripe for identity theft FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. I think the least Experian could do is give them credit monitoring for life since they own it anyway, but I'm not sure I'd trust their service anyway.
In a bizarre twist of irony, those customers are currently being offered two years of free credit monitoring from ProtectMyID.com - a service owned and operated by Experian.

Can't they be sued for this? I didn't agree to anyone stealing my information.
