Has anyone ever tried service and or products from this free internet and phone company?
http://freedompop.com
I was looking at this one
http://fongo.com in canada but they don't have a Saskatchewan number so it's kind of pointless for me. I ran across freedompop and it sounds like a pretty interesting company.

My roommate and I have Freedompops. I have the USB Ubee stick, and my roommate has the little hotspot. Uses your local Sprint cell network as far as I know, and it's great for those occasional time when you have no Wifi access. And for 'free', can't complain too much. You have to have it tied to a credit card, and if you don't use it over 30 days, you get charged a $.99 inactivity fee per month.
Other than, no complaints!

As they say, when something is free, you are the product they are selling to someone.

I'm sure they probably do some kind of trickery to insert their own ads into the websites you browse, but since I use AdBlock Plus, I have never noticed, to be honest.
They also sell plans you can pay for. Free tier is only 500MB of data a month. You can also recruit friends to get more, and they offer higher data limits for $X a month.
Other than, I'm sure wvjohn is right. We are all products!
