Firefox 36 will likely break your add-ons

Post by FlyingPenguin »

I've disabled Firefox auto updates for now. I won't be upgrading until I know all my add-ons are updated.

The current version is 35. If by some chance you accidentally upgrade to 36 and find that your favorite add-ons don't work, you can always uninstall it and re-install 35 which you can download here: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org ... 2035.0.exe

Firefox 36 Beta Announced, Add-on Developers Must Make Important Changes:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Firefox- ... 0195.shtml
The final version of Firefox 36 is expected to arrive on February 24 and that is just a month from now. It gives the developers enough time to make all the changes they want, and it also allows the add-on developers to make some important modifications. It's very likely that some of the add-on won't work without these changes...{more}

Firefox snuck in an update prior to 36 (35.0.1). Some security patches and a couple of new minor features:

What is with their ridiculous major version cycle... I mean 36 come on... It is like they are just to fool people into thinking they've been around since before Internet Explorer.
When all else fails, replace the user.

Should be version 3.xx.xx since all they are doing is supplying security patches.

Does anyone else feel like Firefox is beginning to go backwards? I wish they'd fix whatever causes Youtube to be limited to 270 when in HTML5.

Flash Block, NoScript, Tree Style Tab, and URL Shrink Easy all work on my laptop.

I've always used Waterfox. Just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling of having the 64bit variant over 32.

My stuff seems to be working but I also don't use many add-ons. Just NoScript and another that gives me the IP address of the site I'm on.
