Best Wireless-N Routers for Installing & Running DD-WRT (2012)

Post by FlyingPenguin »

There are lots of modern N routers that can run the super stable DD-WRT firmware (I just happen to be a fan of the older Linksys WRT54G routers).

Nice article here lists the best ones: http://tinyurl.com/6qexvpr

I can highly recommend the Asus RT-N16. It's a very good N router even with the original firmware. With the DD-WRT firmware it's even better.

AND it has antenna externally mounted on the case and supports the connection of external, remote high-gain antennas.

There's also lots of budget N models listed in that article.

i went with the RT-N16 a month or so back. it's been solid and no problems at all so far. the installation was easy and i just loaded the stable mega code through the router's gui. couldn't be easier.
